Mip TV Picks 2008: The Grand Road Of The Incas

To truly understand history, it has to be more than just a mention on a page or the suggestion left by a woodcut or cave painting. It has to be lived. Megan Son and Laurent Granier are looking to do exactly that with the history of the Incas.

The American-French couple have set out on an 18-month, 6,000-kilometer trek across six countries to follow the legendary route of the Incas, the Qhapaq Ñan. The pair will follow the Cordillera of the Andes from North to South with cameras in hand to record the treacherous route, relying on no more support than can be found in the local Andean communities. This series is the very definition of ‘living history.’
