Oddly, the name of this feature does not aptly describe what is about to follow this month. As summer wrapped up the realscreen crew was in fact not 'out and about' all that much as we were hunkered down prepping for the release of our email newsletter and website redesign and putting out this monster issue. So, I'm afraid we have no photos or tidbits from industry events to share with you in this space. However, we may have to beg for more room in the November/December edition as the team will be doing us proud at mipcom, Wildscreen and Sheffield Doc/Fest.
By now you should have received your trial 12-issue subscription to realscreen, our three-times-a-week newsletter, and I'm hoping that you have taken the time to activate it. If you have either not received the newsletter in your inbox or if it stopped coming because you didn't click through to subscribe, please don't hesitate to go to realscreen.com to sign up. Feedback from readers and advertisers has been extremely encouraging and traffic to our website has roughly quadrupled since we launched the newsletter in August. It's fascinating, too, to scrutinize the menu of reports available through Google Analytics. One of the most interesting is seeing where in the world people are reading realscreen. One of the magazine's challenges has been reaching readers on the other side of the world in a timely fashion. It's gratifying for us to find that we are effectively communicating with readers in the farthest regions of the planet.
We're also very encouraged to see that almost 400 people have already registered for February's Realscreen Summit in Washington, dc. Our advisory board, helmed by John Ford and Ann Julienne, has been very forthcoming with ideas for sessions and speakers that will provoke thought and discussion at this most important of industry events. Watch this space next issue for updates on speakers and content and turn to page 52 for registration details.
That's all for now.
Until next time, go well.
