Re-enacting stock footage
by: Jan 1, 2008 Print

An online stock footage company with a twist launched at the beginning of this year: it offers a catalog made completely of full-color historical re-enactments.

Owner and manager of Reenactment Stock Footage.com Kevin R. Hershberger is also the head of prodco LionHeart FilmWorks, which specializes in historical features and docs consisting of recreations spanning three centuries of American history. With the films he has made to date, Hershberger has nearly 300 hours of footage in 35mm, high-def and 24p to start his stock footage company.

The company is offering a deal to customers: for the same price as licensing clips, Hershberger will shoot a new recreation for clients if the footage in his collection isn't suitable. His recreation plans for this year include shooting HD recreations of large-scale Civil War and Revolutionary War combat scenes, creating 18th and 19th century civilian footage and more footage from the War of 1812.
