What's your morning ritual?
Ideally it's hop on my bike, ride downtown, have breakfast with a friend, ride home (uphill). More often it's a bowl of cereal and a cup of coffee.

What's the most dangerous situation you've ever faced while filming?
From the "How hard should I do that?" department: standing beside a lion who was pushing on me (affectionately) and having the trainer suggest I push back.

If you had an unlimited budget, what would your dream Daily Planet episode involve?
Travel to see either the 10 natural wonders of the world, or - maybe better - the 10 most spectacular fossils in the world.

Which song or album title best describes you?
Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In).

Who is one person (living or dead) you'd like to meet?
The 17th century (and hugely underappreciated) scientist Robert Hooke.

How long is your average shooting day?
Somewhere between six and 10 hours.

What's your favorite part of the job?
Hearing about fantastic/unexpected ideas and discoveries -

every single day.

What's your secret vice?
If I could, I would play ball hockey or touch football until my ancient limbs gave out on me.

What are three objects you couldn't live without?
My computer; my bicycle; a bookcase full of books.

What's the best piece of business advice you've been given?
Let someone else make the business decisions.
