History Doc
Although its first two editions were limited to Greek participants, the third History Doc is opening its doors to producers from around the world. The second of three History Doc development sessions this year takes place July 12 and 13 in Athens, with a focus on how historical projects should be pitched to copro partners. (The first session looked at how to produce historical docs on an international scale, and the third will be a workshop where pre-selected projects are presented to potential partners.) Organized by Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation ERT and the EDN, the July session will cover tips on writing and delivering pitches, and creating effective trailers.

Green Screen Int'l Wildlife Film Festival
Aiming to become a yearly event where like-minded, nature-obsessed film folk gather to exchange ideas, the Green Screen International Wildlife Film Festival happens in Eckernförde, Germany from September 6 to 9. Supported by a heavyweight in this genre - NDR Naturfilm's Studio Hamburg Documentaries - the fest will screen international green-themed documentaries, and offer seminars, workshops and specialized discussion groups. Go green or go home.
