Formed in 1998, Little Shark Entertainment is a prodco that makes both fiction and non-fiction films and television. Perhaps more importantly, they also made the most of nearly two years of exclusive access to the German national football team to make a film about the recent World Cup called Deutschland ein Sommermärchen (roughly, Germany: A Summer Fairy Tale). A coproduction with WDR, the film was produced by Tom Spiess and directed and shot by Sönke Wortmann. The film runs from training camp to Germany's defeat in the semi-final, to the joyous haze that engulfed the country as host of the biggest sporting event in the world.

This one struck a significant chord with readers, football fan or not: "Being absolutely no fan of sports on TV, this film opened a new world and vividly captured the outstanding pressure, emotions and joy that we experienced here for the World Cup."
