Al Jazeera expands docs

Six weeks after launching its English-language service, Al Jazeera rolled out its new Documentary Channel on January 1. The nascent 24-hour channel is based out of Doha, and promises to pay "particular attention to the Middle East, with a special focus on the cultural diversity of its societies." While the channel is Arabic-language, it promises to work with producers in the industry to develop programming.
