DEIRBHILE NI CHURRAIGHIN,
ACQUISITIONS EXECUTIVE, TG4 (IRELAND):

The biggest-impact documentary this year was Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth. Suddenly global warming is not only an audiovisual issue, but has moved to center stage in world politics - coincidence? This is the current affairs issue for 2007.

DAVID PAPERNY,
PRESIDENT, PAPERNY FILMS (CANADA):

The breakthrough was the breaking of the rules. We and other production companies are stealing from drama, comedy, documentary, reality and other genres to create hybrid stories that mix different genres. The result is heightened conflict and drama.

RICHARD PROPPER,
PRESIDENT, SOLID ENTERTAINMENT (US):

No question, the biggest news of 2006 is the emergence of IPTV. Take the obvious destination of content onto the Internet, add faster broadband delivery speeds, pour in new venture capital, and hold your breath - Internet TV is about to arrive!
