When it comes to broadcasting, even the most inspired decisions can tend to look banal in hindsight. But credit is absolutely merited for an executive who has a track record of consistently bringing hits to her network, regardless of how obvious they might look after they've cracked the top 10.
As EVP of alternative programming, specials and late-night for ABC Entertainment since May 2004, Andrea Wong has overseen an impressive roll-call of hits for her net. Last year, she imported Dancing with the Stars from the BBC, which became the surprise performer of the summer. Previous to that, she had a hand in bringing the network performers like the Emmy Award-winning Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, as well as Wife Swap, Supernanny, and The Bachelor. Wong developed The Mole, and was even involved in bringing Who Wants to be a Millionaire? to the US. It's enough to make you forgive her involvement with the Nick and Jessica Variety Hour.
