Each MIPCOM arrives with a host of new programs of every genre. It's hard to keep it all straight, let alone pick the most promising titles. So, this year, realscreen wants to help.
In our September issue, realscreen will offer "The Best of MIPCOM" - a collection of titles we think will make the most noise at this year's market.
We're throwing open the realscreen site to clip submissions, and we'll pick the must-see shows for MIP.
The rules are simple: the show doesn't need to be wrapped - we're open to rough cuts - but the project must be coming to the market for the first time as a filmed creation. (Previously pitched/undeveloped ideas are acceptable.) We'll accept one-offs or individual episodes from a series, in any genre, in AVI, MPG or Quicktime formats, as long as they are less than 100 meg in size. (We recommend a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels.)
Companies can submit up to three entries, in any genre. We'll pick the best and feature them in our pre-MIP issue, AND we'll include the clips in the electronic version of our September issue so that a few thousand MIPCOM attendees will get a chance to see your work before they head to the market.
Entries can be uploaded at http://www.realscreen.com/upload. Please make sure to include your name, company name and contact email, as well as a list of the show titles (in the 'Instructions' box). It's also vital that 'Brendan Christie' be selected in the recipient pull-down menu - we don't want your entries to go missing!
Submissions will be accepted until Monday, August 7.
Should you have any questions, please contact Brendan Christie at bchristie@brunico.com.
Thanks - and good luck!
