UN Doc Film Festival
The second UN Documentary Film Festival (running April 22/23 in nyc) has attracted more than double the entries of its inaugural year - 180 in all, from five continents. Dubbed Stories From the Field, the fest aims to support the un's Millennium Development Goals through films that demonstrate the combat against poverty and hunger, and tackle health concerns and sustainability, among other goals. Added to the honorary committee this year (joining Sydney Pollack, Albert Maysles and others) are actors Benicio Del Toro and Susan Sarandon.
